Selling Coins on eBay -  Picture Editing Software

Most computers come equipped with some basic picture editing software. You’ll probably find some software for different programs came with your scanner and your camera as well. However, to make the very best of your pictures, and so make your coin items more attractive on eBay, you’ll need to invest at some point in a specialist picture editing program. We use Paint Shop Pro 9 from Corel. There is a later version, but you'll pay a lot more for it, and we find this version does absolutely everything needed to create great eBay pictures.

A picture editor will re-size your picture exactly as you want it to appear on eBay. It will also sharpen focus, increase or decrease contrast, brightness, color saturation and edit your picture in a hundred other ways to make it a very accurate representation of the coin you're planning to show. With it you can use advanced techniques, or like me, stick to the basics - they're all you need to know to edit those great pictures from your scanner and your digital camera.

Install your choice of picture editing software on your computer, and follow the instructions so that your scanner and digital camera download images directly to it.

Experiment! Have some fun scanning some items, or take some pictures with your camera and crop them to size, lighten them and darken them, increase and decrease contrast, color saturation and so on, just to see what it’s all about. Unless you’re planning to be a professional photographer don’t worry about different raster layers or anything technical. The basic functions are all you need. A day spent trying out your new equipment is time well invested.

Our next subject is the very important one of Payment Methods.
